Our work

Programmes rooted in engineering and community ownership

Each programme area combines our technical and engineering background with direct community involvement. We train local committees and cooperatives, work alongside government partners, and design programmes for communities to run and own over time.

01

Waste & Circular Economy

Community-based waste collection, plastic recycling and septic services that tackle urban sanitation, developed in partnership with Freetown City Council and the Environmental Protection Agency Sierra Leone.

02

Coastal & Mangrove Resilience

Mangrove restoration and beekeeping as an alternative income source for coastal communities, aligned with the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources and the National Protected Area Authority.

03

Water, Sanitation & Flood Resilience

Flood mitigation campaigns, drainage management and safe water access for communities most exposed to flooding and water-borne disease.

04

Agriculture & Value Addition

Support for women farmers in organic growing techniques, agroforestry and market linkages, including processing local produce such as mango into higher-value products.

05

Fisheries & Coastal Livelihoods

Safety, cold-chain and cooperative services for artisanal fishing communities, reducing post-harvest loss and improving income for fishers and fishmongers.

06

Green Energy & Climate

Advocacy and small-scale renewable energy pilots bringing off-grid power to underserved districts, alongside energy-saving business development.

07

Youth, Education & STEM

Training, entrepreneurship support and job placement for young people, with a particular focus on women and girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

How we work

From engineering plan to community-run programme

Co-implementation

We design and deliver programmes jointly with government institutions, local councils and international technical partners, rather than running projects on our own.

Community ownership

Where possible, assets and operations are handed over to trained local cooperatives and committees so that communities continue to benefit after our direct involvement ends.

Data and monitoring

We use GPS/GIS mapping, baseline surveys and ongoing monitoring to track progress and report results to partners and funders.

Technical training

Every programme includes hands-on training, whether in organic farming, mangrove restoration, waste management or safety at sea, so skills remain in the community.

Partner with us on a programme

We work with funders, government institutions and international organizations to design and deliver programmes across these focus areas. Get in touch to discuss a potential partnership.
